'Sarphati Amsterdam, research for healthy living'

Sarphati Amsterdam, research for healthy living – is a unique scientific research institute in Amsterdam. The Sarphati Amsterdam mission is to use research to contribute to a healthy lifestyle and optimal living conditions for young Amsterdam residents. This forms the foundation for long-term prevention and eradication of such things as obesity among current and future generations. Our organisation aims to contribute to this foundation through initiating research projects and programmes. The research results can then be translated into practical guides for practice and policy advice.

The Sarphati Cohort

The core of Sarphati Amsterdam is formed by the Sarphati Cohort. Here data collection is linked to the youth healthcare infrastructure in Amsterdam. This means that all children from 0 to 18 years in Amsterdam can form part of the cohort.
